Movie Night

To kick off summer, the Hotel Palms Courtyard was transformed into a drive-in movie experience. Nostalgic for adults and fun for kids, the classic ‘Honey I Shrunk the Kids’ was screened as the sun set. Popcorn was popping and local vendors, Show Pigeon Coffee, The Hotdog Party, and Hyppo Gourmet Ice Pops were onsite for guests to enjoy.

American Advertising Federation of Jacksonville’s Agency Leadership Dinner

Agency leaders around the city were invited to celebrate, connect, collaborate and continue to make a name for Jacksonville as a creative hub for advertising excellence on a national scale. This 30 person cocktail hour and dinner took place in the newly renovated Hotel Palms Courtyard.

DUST: A Vintage Surfboard, Motorcycle, and Car Exhibit

The ultimate day party, DUST brought out locals with an affinity for all things classic, including a collection of vintage surfboards curated by Black Rose MFG. and select cars and motorcycles in association with Garrison Moto. As The Mother Gooses played surf rock in the background, the crowd mixed and mingled in the Hotel Palms courtyard until the sun set. Special thanks to Sunrise Surf Shop Clean Ocean Surfboards and Aqua East Surf Shop for pulling some rare and iconic boards out of their collections. A percentage of the event proceeds went towards the Surfrider Foundation.

Penelope T x Hotel Palms Sunset Fashion Show

On Thursday, April 6, 2017, newly renovated Atlantic Beach boutique hotel, Hotel Palms, and women’s clothing boutique, Penelope T, presented a Sunset Fashion Show in the hotel’s private courtyard at 7:30pm. From dresses, to swim, to accessories, the show highlighted a curated collection of spring looks the Jacksonville Beach boutique carries. Following the show, attendees were invited to shop the runway at Penelope T’s on-site pop-up shop.

2016 Events
Whalebone Pop-Up at Hotel Palms
Just in time for the grand re-opening of the Hotel Palms, one of our favorite brands, Whalebone, popped up for the weekend in our Suite. The Montauk based lifestyle and apparel brand kicked things off with a party (naturally) where locals and friends of Hotel Palms and Whalebone gathered to celebrate as DJ Japancakes spun into the night and copious amounts of Montauk Brewing Company were served.

Jax Moms Blog: Moms Night Out at Hotel Palms
On a beautiful November night in Atlantic Beach, Hotel Palms hosted one of Jacksonville’s biggest blogger networks, the Jax Moms blog. Moms from all over the city gathered in our courtyard to sip, shop and socialize as one of our favorite local singer/songwriters, Meredith Rae Woodard, played in the background. Our partner, Mezza Restaurant & Bar, served up delicious bites and local bakery, AlleyCakes, supplied sweet treats. To read more about the party at the Palms, visit Jax Moms blog.

Blue Jay Listening Room Presents Whetherman, Pop-Up Show

On a magical night in November, our favorite local listening room, Blue Jay, hosted a pop-up show featuring the incredibly talented Nick Whetherman. Whetherman fans and locals with an appreciation for great storytelling and LIVE music made themselves comfortable in our Courtyard while Nick played an acoustic show and took us on a journey of what inspires him as a fire burned in the background.

Uppers & Downers Surf Film Premiere

Hundreds of people packed into the Hotel Palms courtyard on a chilly December night to watch the premiere of Uppers & Downers, a short film about time spent and adventures had on Vancouver Island by Justin Quintal, Tommy Witt, and Gunner Hughes. The night was punctuated by live music from local bands including The Young Step, Wise River, and Bradford Watters as Los Besos. Abundant amounts of PBR were served and a grand time was had by all.

Palms Market

Hotel Palms is a huge supporter of shopping locally and during the holiday season, we invite select vendors to set up shop in our Courtyard so members of the community can do their holiday shopping. This year, 8 vendors including Sailors Siren, Couture Jems, Really Good Beer Stop, Aqua East Surf Shop, The Admiral’s Daughters, 33 Peppers, Arabella Knits and Creative Designs popped up and sold a variety of goods and gifts to locals looking to check items off their shopping lists. Even though it was a balmy 75 degrees (got to love December in Florida), hot chocolate was served to compliment the artisanal treats provided by Jayne Doughnuts.
